DAS DIREKTIONS-GEBÄUDE DER MILLENNIUMS-AUSSTELLUNG. — Dasselbe befindet sich hart an der Grenze des Ausstellungsgebietes auf dem Platze zwischen dem «Städtischen Gasthause» und dem Teich. Von diesem Bau aus werden sämmt- liche weitverzweigte und wichtige Angelegenheiten der Ausstellung geleitet, die be- weisen sollen, dass das seit tausend Jahren bestehende Ungarn sich in allen Zweigen des modernen Culturlebens mit den anderen Staaten messen kann. Die Façade des stattlichen Gebäudes ist im Renaissance-Styl gehalten ; auf der Seite nach dem Teiche erstreckt sich eine breite Terrasse. Wir erinnern uns hier des verdienstvollen Direktors Ministerialrath Dr. Josef Schmidt und des bewährten Secretärs Dr. M. Gelléri. LE PAVILLON DE LA DIRECTION DE L’EXPOSITION. — Cette élégante con- struction style renaissance, est située sur l’emplacement compris entre le restaurant de la ville et le lac, aux abords du pont qui donne accès à l’île Széchenyi. C’est là que seront installés les services importants appelés à présider aux rouages compliqués que comporte l’administration de l’exposition nationale. On peut affirmer d’ores et déjà que cette administration à la tête de laquelle se trouvent, en qualité de Direc- teur, Mr. le Dr. Schmidt, conseiler ministériel, et comme secrétaire, Mr.le Dr. M. Gelléri, fonctionnaires dont la compétence est connue, sera à la hauteur de sa tâche, et qu’elle montrera que la Hongrie qui va fêter son premier anniversaire millénaire, est à même de rivaliser, sous le rapport des progrès, avec les autres nations du monde civilisé. THE MANAGING OFFICES OF THE M1LLENNARY EXHIBITION. — Close to the confines of the Exhibition grounds, between the municipal public house and the lake, and the bridge leading to the Széchenyi island, stands the building in which the managing offices of the Exhibition are located. From this building all the intricate and important work is directed and conducted, by which it is intended to demon- strate to the world, that Hungary after an existence of a thousand years, is fully able to compete, with the sister nations, in all branches of human Art and Science. The front is designed in the Renaissance style, facing the lake is a spacious terrace from where the historical group is seen. Dr. Joseph Schmidt ministerial councilior is the able. director, and Dr. M. Gelléri the emminent Secretary of the Exhibition. 15
